What are Prospects?

Use this guide to understand what a prospect is, how prospects differ from lists, and what changed from DealMachine Classic.

What is a prospect?

A prospect is a property or person you’ve decided to actively work. Think of Prospects as your working set, while Lists are collections used to organize records.

A property or person can:

  • Be a prospect

  • Be on one or more lists

  • Be both a prospect and on multiple lists

Adding or removing a record from Prospects does not add or remove it from a list, and changing list membership does not affect its prospect status.

Coming from DealMachine Classic? Prospects are what Leads were called in Classic.

What changed

Several older terms now use Prospects:

  • Saved Properties and Saved People → Prospects
Anything you previously saved is now a prospect. Its original saved date is kept as the date it was added.

  • Driving for Dollars Targets → Prospects
Existing targets are now prospects and keep their original added date. Properties added while driving and properties added from search now belong to the same Prospects set and share one count across web and mobile.

  • Save → Add prospect
The Save action is now Add prospect.

  • Add Target → Add Prospect
When driving, you’ll now see Add Prospect instead of Add Target.

  • The star now means Favorite
The star no longer saves a record. It now marks an existing prospect as a favorite.
