Use this to skip trace properties in new DealMachine — either in bulk from a list, or one property at a time. In DealMachine, "skip tracing" and "revealing contact info" are the same action: pulling phone numbers and email addresses for a property's owners.
Bulk skip trace (many properties at once)
There isn't a separate "bulk skip trace" button in new DealMachine — bulk reveals happen through the Export flow. Exporting returns owner contact info for everything you selected at the same time.
Step by step:
Open your saved list (or run a search) so the properties you want are on screen.
Select the properties you want to skip trace.
Click Actions → Export.
Export by contacts (recommended — see below for why).
Apply your contact filters first — for example, wireless numbers only, or exclude landlines and DNC numbers. Filtering here avoids spending credits on contacts you can't use.
Review the billable contact count that DealMachine shows before you confirm. This is the exact number of data credits the export will use.
Confirm the export. The contacts are revealed, the credits are deducted, and your file downloads.
Why export by contacts (not by property)
When you export, we recommend exporting by contacts rather than by property owners. Here's the difference:
Contacts export: each contact gets its own row in the file, with their own role clearly labeled (Likely Owner, Family, Resident, and so on) alongside their phone numbers and emails.
Property export: each property gets one row, with all its contacts spread sideways across columns (contact 1, contact 2, contact 3...).
The contacts format is much easier to work with — especially if you're uploading the file to a dialer or text messaging software, which expect one person per row. You can also sort or filter the file by role, so you can call Likely Owners first and skip residents or family members if you want to.
Skip trace a single property
For one property at a time, use the Reveal button on the property page:
Open the property.
On any contact card, click Reveal next to a phone number or email.
The contact is unlocked and 1 data credit is used.
Owner names and their relationship to the property (Likely Owner, Family, Resident) are always free to view. The credit is only used when you reveal a phone number or email address.
How much does it cost?
1 data credit per contact revealed. A few things worth knowing:
Landlines and DNC numbers still cost a credit once revealed. That's why filtering before export matters.
You never pay twice for the same contact in the same billing cycle. If you reveal a phone today and re-open the same contact tomorrow, no additional credit is used.
Multiple contacts per property = multiple credits. A property with three revealed contacts uses three credits.
Recommended workflow
If you're working through a list of more than a handful of properties:
Use the Export flow, and export by contacts.
Filter out landlines and DNC numbers before exporting to protect your credits.
Check the billable count before you confirm — no surprises.
The one-row-per-contact file drops straight into your dialer, texting platform, or CRM.
